When I was a child it would always mull over on what was the particular reason that causes dogs to bark. Barking is something natural that dogs do. Just like the way humans talk, and the way the birds chirp. If you own a dog then most likely there is nothing wrong with it barking every now and then. You can't expect your dog to stop barking all together because that is an unrealistic goal.

However, what you could do is adopt the proper cares to help decrease your dog from barking too much. The issue that comes up is when dogs start barking practically non stop. That can be an irritation not only to you, but to your neighbors as well. This is a pretty simple issue to address. Dogs are very sociable creatures and they whimper, bark, and or whine when they are isolated in an area for huge amounts of time.

When they see someone walking by they will commonly bark at them as a way of discharging all of their stored up energy. After a while, the barking will become rather a bad habit, and they will bark at anything that makes a sound, even a leaf falling from a tree.

Therefore, the first step towards curing your overly avid barking dog is to just spend more time with your dog and get out with them more often. If the dog is in your house all day then they will become bored and frustrated. When you spend additional time with your dog and play with him more, it will become happier, and a happy dog will tend to bark less then a frustrated and normally confined one.

In addition, one simple way to help alleviate the stress that your dog has is to simply play some obedience games with him. This has two benefits. One, the dog gets some quality time and gets to savor itself. Second, you get to cultivate and condition your dog better. You can instruct the dog to "come here," "to sit," "to fetch," and etc.

It is good to combine physical activities with mental activities for dogs.

When dogs apply their mental capacity, they tend to tire more quickly which will make them sleep more often. Also, if you have a local park, then take your dog out there so that it can associate with other neighborhood dogs and make some friends there, because socializing is also another good activity for dogs to take part in.
