Dog Health issues Part 1

It's interesting to note that many health issues that occur in dogs are alike to that of humans such as obesity and arthritis.

In spite of, some health issues are far from similar, and some health risks from dogs can be passed on to humans such as rabies for example. Rabies is a very fatal disease that can be transferred to animals or humans by a carrier of the disease that is usually another mammal. Even though dogs are common carriers of this disease, other mammals such as rats, bats, and raccoons have been known to be able to carry this disease, but they are not usually seen carrying this disease in nature because many scientists have reasoned that those infected are not likely to survive the wild to pass this on to other mammals.

A mammal that suffers from rabies will suffer from deterioration of the brain which may cause them to act in an aggressive and irate manner which will increase the likelihood that they will pass the disease on to another mammal. There are many places in the world that are rabies free such as Australia, Hawaii, and Britain. These countries have rigorous laws that regulate imported animals, but they also make it not a number one choice for individuals that have pets. Also, places that happen to not be rabies free will usually call for pet animals to be checked and vaccinated so that they will not be infected. If an individual happens to be bitten by an unidentified dog, then they should always seek treatment before waiting for some type of symptom to start showing up.

There has been only one documented case to which an individual have contracted rabies and have ended up getting treated and lived. It's crucial for all dog owners to get their dogs vaccinated since this will remove the risk of worrying about whether your dog will turn a carrier of this disease. In addition to rabies, another disease that are common for dogs to carry are fleas, and they can bring this to your home and spread it to humans, especially when they shake themselves off in the house. Additionally, dogs are very vulnerable to parasites getting into their systems such as tapeworms, roundworms, and hookworms. These parasite enters the dog's body when it is ingested in the dog's stomach and then travel to other parts of their body. It's essential to keep your dog clean and to get it vaccinated to avoid any of these issues.
